Custom Crop Tool

The Custom Crop Tool in the Manual Process Toolbar allows you to specify a crop region. This is different from the Crop tool in the Process Toolbar, which automatically detects the edges of the page. You might use the Custom Crop Tool if there are multiple objects within an image that the automatic crop tool might interpret as "edges". For example, if a page has a box drawn on it, it can be difficult for the automatic tool to know whether to crop the box or the full page. With the Custom Crop Tool, you specify the edges for PhotoDocs to crop. ClosedShow me how.

Custom Crop example

Note: You will usually want to follow a Custom Straighten process with a Custom Crop. If you select Crop immediately after Straighten, the Custom Crop tool will automatically be aligned to the edge of the page that you specified.

To use the Custom Crop Tool

  1. In the Image Editor, select Crop from the Manual Process Toolbar.
  2. Drag the edges or the corners of the crop region to the edges or corners of the page (or other region to crop).
  3. Click Crop.
